The Houm Plaza Son Rigo Apartment Hotel, located in Playa de Palma, has been awarded the Travelife Gold certification for the fourth consecutive year, a distinction it has held since 2013. This recognition places the establishment among the select group of hotels worldwide that consistently succeed in renewing the certification.
The Travelife certification was created by major tour operators such as TUI, Thomas Cook, Neckermann, and Kuoni with the aim of enabling travel agencies and hotel establishments to demonstrate to increasingly aware customers their genuine commitment to environmental care and social responsibility.
At Houm Hotels & Villas, there is a strong and committed focus on social and environmental initiatives. These include: donations to the altruistic association Es Refugi, which distributes food to people at risk of social exclusion; the reduction, separation, and proper recycling of waste in collaboration with Emaya; the protection of local wildlife and plant life; and the integration of the Balearic community into the labor and commercial spheres, among other actions.
Houm Plaza Son Rigo, inaugurated in 1989 by Miguel Vidal Fullana, has gradually evolved and renovated its facilities to become a family-friendly 4-star apartment complex and a reference point in Playa de Palma. The hotel also preserves one of the largest gardens in the area, with more than 5,000 m² and vegetation characteristic of the island.
