A few years ago, Palma’s museums decided to widen their offer, hosting not only art exhibitions, but also conferences, workshops, films and concerts. But the most appreciated activities are those specially devised for children.
Two of the most important museums of Majorca organise special workshops for children so that they learn about Art playing and practising.
Es Baluard is the largest museum of contemporary art in Palma and it organises different type of activities throughout the year: painting workshops, guided tours, storytelling... Check out in the museum’s website the activities for children and adults.
The other museum that organises activities for children is the Fundació Pilar Joan Miro, located near Marivent (the holiday resort of the Royal Family), on the site where Joan Miró had his studio. It is a museum with a permanent exhibition of Joan Miro’s works and different itinerant exhibitions. These exhibitions are shown in a modern building designed by Moneo. The painter’s studio and an adjacent studio where he made his largest works can be both visited.
But the preferred place by children is the garden, where we can find different sculptures and some rooms where they learn playing and discover the works of this fabulous artist who connects with simplicity and children’s imagination.
This museum is a must visit place during your family trips to Majorca. Visit the museum’s
